The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) announced two-time Olympic medal winning player PV Sindhu as the Team India Flagbearer at the 2022 Commonwealth Games opening ceremony in Birmingham.
The 2022 edition of the Commonwealth Games also has the largest contingent of female athletes in the history of the Games. As many as 205 participants are set to take part in the games in 20 sports. Top Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra had to withdraw due to an injury.
