The United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution to declare 16 May as the International Day of Living Together in Peace in 2017.
The Day aims to urge people to live together in a united and peaceful way. The year 2000 was recognized as ‘The International Year for a Culture of Peace and the UN declared the decade from 2001 to 2010 as the “International Decade for a Culture of Peace and Non-Violence for Children of the World.”
